Joya d'Arena is a desert kingdom to the south. It is quite large and very old, and is the setting for the majority of the trilogy. It was formerly governed by King Alejandro de Vega, but since his death, it is now ruled by his widow, Queen Lucero-Elisa de Riqueza.
